Retro-Reflective
Retro-Reflective Photo Eyes combine the transmitter and receiver into one piece of electronics that emits a photooptic beam across the roadway to a polarized reflector that reflects the beam back to the receiver and triggers the safety reversing entrapment inputs on your gate operator. The main benefit to this type of photo beam is that you only need power on one side of the roadway. It is important that the reflector and emitter are kept clean and free of moisture. You will also want to install a protective hood over the reflector to keep it out of the direct sunlight. The effective range of retro-reflective photo beams varies from 21 to 60 feet.
